BREEDING PHILOSOPHY

Our breeding program’s objective is to produce an elite animal, from an efficient maternal weight hind using the latest technology and best genetics available.

We use world leading venison, velvet and antler genetics combined with performance measures such as ultrasound scanning, CT scanning, DEERSelect, progeny testing and DNA testing to achieve our consistent, best in class results.

Fastidious recording and tracking of key trait data ensures we mate the right hind to the suitable stag to achieve precise breeding goals. During the selection process, we are constantly reviewing breed values, bloodlines and performance to date.

SUPPLY OF EXPORT SEMEN

Wilkins Farming Co supplies export approved semen for international markets. We are confident the high-quality semen we have available will compliment any breeding programme.

Our export approved semen is collected on farm at our New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) approved premises. Each country has specific importation requirements, so please contact us for further details including pedigrees, pricing and availability of our sires.
